About Watch Company of "Union Horolgere":

All started in 1883 when Gottlieb Hauser, timepiece and watch maker in Winterthur, founded Swiss Watchmakers Corporation ("Switzerland Clock and watch makers of company").
A certain number of timepiece and watch makers joined the components of watch of purchase and organized their manufacture. Quickly, the new concept gained acceptance. As qualified at the same time manufactures, association started to develop its own gauges and to increase its distribution network.
Outlines (the base of a gauge) were produced by the factory of Alpina Ebauche in Geneva, had by Duret and Colonnaz, which also played a significant role in the construction of the first gauges of Alpina. Final stages in the manufacture of the gauges were carried out in Bienne, the place of the principal quarters of association in date of 1890.
Success was fast and of the representations were installed in Germany as well as in Europe east and Scandinavian. In 1901, the name "Alpina" was registered like marks deposited at the same time; it appears only on the dials of the watches at end high. Beginning, watches of Alpina were manufactured with high-grade components, inter alia spirals of Brequet, wheels of balance with gold screws and heavy gold cases

About Watch Company of PAVEL BURE / PAUL BUHRE:

Basically there was no true watch factory in Russia before the revolution. Some Swiss makers did assemble some movement kits locally from imported parts as a way around tariff barriers. Paul Leopold Buhre in 1815 opened a small shop in St. Petersburg. (There was a good size colony of Swiss watchmakers there who had been attracted by Catherine II's efforts to start a watch and clock factory. The firms of Courvoisier & Cie, Tissot and Paul Buhre introduced good horology to Eastern Europe). There are data that the first Bure's have moved to Russia in days of Peter I. Pavel Bure, whose name also became "card" of firm, was the watchmaker and the businessman.
"Buhre Paul, SA, Manufacture des montres, Le Locle, La Chaux-de-Fonds (sister watch cities), St. Petersburg, also Henri Barbezat-Bole, Paul Buhre & H. Barbezat-Bole SA, Paul Buhre Watch Agency, New York. Brands & model names: Coris, Ehrub, Rotodator, Rotograph. Trade Mark: two imperial eagles back to back, with a superimposed banded shield, and below" fondee en 1815". In order to ensure a supply of the kind of watches the Russian aristocrats wanted, the Buhres founded a factory in Le Locle later in 1815.
Paul Buhre's son took over the Russian business and came personally to Switzerland to select watches. The firm obtained the title of Official Purveyor to the Imperial Court. He eventually took over the direction of the factory in Le Locle. The firm expanded rapidly from its trading with Russia. The firm was managed from 1880 on by Paul Girard-Gabus (1835-1902) and included his brother-in-law, Georges Pfund. Its legal name was changed in 1880 to Paul Girard-Bagus and still had very heavy trade with Russia and changed back its name to Paul Buhre at PGG's death in 1902.
Buhre watches were used on Russian railways and were given by the Russian government and public services as awards. These award watches were called "Russia", and had a half-length figure of the Tsar on the dial. The firm won several medals: Silver at the Paris Universal Exposition in 1889. Gold at the Swiss National Exhibition in Geneva in 1896. Gold at the Paris Exhibition of 1990. In 1911 it registered a design model of a ratchet wheel with click. In days of the First World War Paul Buhre delivered watches for Russian army. All the Swiss watches firms that depended heavily on trade with Russia were badly hit by the 1917 Russian revolution and quickly had to develop new products and new markets.

    Extremely Rare Vintage Military Divers Gigantic Stainless Steel Watch 191CHS '60

    Original Divers Watch used by the russian Special Forces (Diversants).
    Heavy Stainless Steel Case measures 6cm in diameter 2cm height.
    Gigantic, Definitely, Catches Every One's Attention!
    Made by the russian Zlatoust Watch Factory. Black dial has luminous numbers and hands. The case is closed and sealed with the glass ring screwed from the top. The strap is made gray and is made to stick to the outside of the divers suit. The watch is 10oz so it can be used as an extra weight to help lower the diver. The movement is mechanical wind up (15 jewels) Mono-metallic balance with screws, Breguet balance spring, brass lever and wheels. The crown is protected by a canteen screw and secured by a chain. Serial Numbered on the back. Very reliable 30 hours winding mechanism. Water proof under the pressure of 3kg/sq.cm (about 150-200 meters of depth). Weight 260 gr. Diameter 60mm. Everybody thinks it is the Coolest Watch they have ever seen!
